Ceremony
“The real ceremony begins where the formal one ends, when we take up a new way, our minds and hearts filled with the vision of earth that holds us within it, in compassionate relationship to and with our world.”
― Linda Hogan
A Container
Simply said, Ceremony is a container that holds a defined space for contemplation. The container of Ceremony is one where self reflection transforms to a community process, bringing together people to individually contemplate, reflect, and feel – together. To sit in Ceremony is perhaps like sitting in front of a mirror – with the gaze of your soul looking back longing to make eye contact.
Reconnecting to the Ways of Those Who Came Before Us
Whatever our ancestral lineage may be, to sit in ceremony is to reconnect with the ways and wisdom of those who walked the path of life before us, those whose wisdom and memories we carry with us in our bones, flesh and blood, our Ancestors. Cultures across the Earth for time immemorial have practiced ceremony & ritual to honor different processes and cycles of life and it is only until relatively recently have we lost our way of this practice outside of organized religion in the western world. To reclaim this beautiful act, process, and community gathering, is to reclaim and tap into the ways and wisdom of our human family, our Mother Earth, the energy of life. To come back to Ceremony is to Remember, to remember who and what we really are.
